Reports Indicate Fluramene to Provide Earlier and Easier Detection of Ocular Surface Disorders (Tue, 09 Mar 2010)
Noble Vision Group EUGENE, Ore., March 9 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- Noble Vision Group, LLC, a research and development organization today announced reports of favorable results for the topical dye formulation, Fluramene™, among leading eye care professionals.

Dr. Paul S. Koch, M.D. commented, "Fluramene has been the single most effective and efficient drop I've used to evaluate the surface of the eye, and it had become my routine when I evaluated a patient for a refractive or a premium IOL. It has now become my routine for all patients. Fluramene allows me to diagnose ocular surface disorders easier and earlier, so I can institute therapy before the conditions progress too far."

Fluramene™, the proprietary Fluorescein Sodium and Lissamine Green dye combination is a sterile solution packaged in a 15mL bottle with a control tip dropper. The benefits of both dyes have been studied comprehensively and are well reported as diagnostic tools used independent of each other. More recent reports indicate that Fluorescein alone is not adequate for detecting cellular damage of the conjunctiva, though sufficient for assessing tear meniscus and break-up time. The addition of Lissamine Green provides the clinician with a tool to simultaneously evaluate the conjunctiva and the cornea for ocular surface disorders, without requiring additional drops or dye strips.

Dr. Mitchell Jackson, M.D. remarks, "Fluramene aids in the preoperative and postoperative periods for detecting corneal and/or conjunctival staining suggestive of dry eye and poor tear film stability leading to poor preoperative image taking needed for IOL calculations and enhanced visual fluctuations postoperatively. Strips are now a thing of the past in my practice and a single drop of Fluramene makes patient flow and chair time that much faster without compromising diagnostic capability. By optimizing the ocular surface, treating residual refractive errors such as astigmatism will be that much more accurate making for a happy premium IOL outcome."

Patrick H. Witham, Noble Vision Group, LLC President stated, "Fluramene is a product derived from great collaboration among a team of highly respected physicians and surgeons within the eye care industry. It is deeply gratifying to know that just a single drop can provide the practitioner with so much information about their patient."

About Noble Vision Group, LLC:
Headquartered in Eugene, Oregon, Noble Vision Group, LLC, a Paragon Bioteck, Inc. company, is a research and development organization that was established in 2008 geared toward the development of niche medical products for the eye care community.

The Business Case for Paid Internships (Mon, 08 Mar 2010)
Intern Bridge Internship hiring expected to rise 4 percent, while paid opportunities to drop by 8 percent and wages to decline by 4 percent.

BOSTON, Mass., March 9 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- Intern Bridge, the nation's leading college recruiting research and consulting firm, began releasing data today from its national internship survey completed by over 25,000 students from 250 universities. In the 2010 Internship Salary Report, the firm details the business case for offering paid internships based on this firsthand data.

The report shows that the number of students involved in internships is expected to increase by 4 percent this year, a sign that employers nationwide are turning to experiential education to save money on labor costs. The report also shows that the number of paid opportunities is set to drop by 8 percent in addition to a wage decline of 4 percent, bringing the national average intern wage to $12.38 an hour. However, unpaid and low-paid experiences do not typically translate into results for employers.

The report details that offering as little as one dollar extra per hour could have a direct impact on the student's future career path and acceptance of a job offer. For example, students who were paid an average of $13.80 strongly agreed they would consider working for their internship employer full-time, where students who earned $11.39 strongly disagreed.

"This is impressive data. We are finally able to directly connect internship program success with the amount of money paid to students," says Intern Bridge Founder, Richard Bottner. "Unpaid internships have been the status quo for too long, especially when in many cases it actually works against the employers. It's a practice that needs additional attention. Employers simply do not realize the negative impact unpaid internships have on their business, the economy, and students."

The report also details that 77 percent of students need to work second jobs when working an unpaid internship experience, with only 35 percent of the total student population able to receive any sort of financial support from their parents. This leaves less time available for interns to focus on working for their employers, or requires students to miss out on important academic activities.

"Part of the problem is that some companies believe that students seek internships to get rich. The data does not support that," Bottner adds. In fact, the top 8 reasons student pursue internships have to do with building their network and learning about an industry - nothing to do with money. Further, 7 out of 10 students would accept less pay in exchange for greater work experience.

About Intern Bridge:
Intern Bridge was founded by Richard Bottner in 2005 while he was a student at Babson College. Intern Bridge is now the nation's leading college recruiting consulting firm which serves to assist employers in building meaningful and effective internship programs. Bottner recently published "Total Internship Management: The Employer's Guide To Building The Ultimate Internship Program."

New American Book of 'Blue Collar' Haiku Rooted in Works of Japanese Master (Mon, 08 Mar 2010)
Blue Collar Haiku ESTES PARK, Colo., March 8 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- "Rocky Mountain Blue Collar Haiku" (ISBN: 9781449918378) targets a more extensive audience than conventional books of haiku poetry. Containing literary quality poems, poet Greg Paullus follows the spirit of Kobayashi ISSA (1763-1828), one of the four great Japanese masters, but the first who was also a common man.

Generally regarded as the most-loved Japanese master, the haiku of ISSA spoke from the heart, rather than from the head. According to Paullus, "Haiku are a measure of your humanity, not your status. Haiku poems should reach out to everyone, even children, not just the pedagogic few."

"Rocky Mountain Blue Collar Haiku" expands the haiku genre and initiates new readers.

As the title suggests, many poems are specifically mountain-inspired, reflecting "aha" moments relating to the majesty of the Rockies and the people and wildlife inhabiting this breathtaking mountain environment.

Haiku are short, typically three-line poems of 17 syllables or less (5-7-5). A haiku reports the essence of a moment as experienced just beyond usual cognizance. But, it does not contain the usual poetic devices such as simile or metaphor. Haiku are divided into two parts, by a technique called "cutting," which is a surprise twist.

The author wrote his first haiku as a grade school assignment in a small Iowa town. His teacher was so impressed; she would not accept the haiku as his own.

"Gregory," she said, "who wrote this poem for you?"

"I did," he protested, choking up. "I did it myself."

"No, I'm afraid you didn't Gregory. It's just too poignant for a boy your age."

The moment was painful, but the passion for poetry was ignited. Later, Greg Paullus studied haiku as part of a curriculum in college while earning a B.A. in English. Drafted shortly after graduation, he served with honor in the United States Army during the Vietnam era. He resumed writing in the advertising business where he founded an agency and earned his living for over three decades. Over the years, the passion for reading and writing haiku never diminished, although most of the haiku in his book are recent expressions.

Newly released, the book is available on Amazon.com and signed books are available on www.bluecollarhaiku.com.

For more information, go to bluecollarhaiku.com or contact the author directly by email at greg(at)bluecollarhaiku(.com).

Online Screener to Offer Help for Millions Suffering from Any of Four Common Psychiatric Illnesses (Mon, 08 Mar 2010)
M-3 Checklist Study confirming accuracy of M-3 Checklist published in Annals of Family Medicine - First mental health application developed for electronic medical record systems.

CAMBRIDGE, Mass., March 8 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- A one-page online checklist that can be completed in a few minutes accurately indicates whether a patient may have any of four major mental health conditions, according to a study to be published in the March/April 2010 issue of the Annals of Family Medicine. The free, Web-based screener, developed by M-3 Information, is available on-line at www.mymoodmonitor.com.

For the millions of Americans grappling with depression, anxiety, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder or bipolar disorder, the documented accuracy of the M-3 Checklist is a major breakthrough for mental health care, according to the researchers from the University of North Carolina, Weill Medical College at Cornell University and the Boston University School of Medicine who conducted the study.

"The M-3 offers a quick and accurate way to determine whether a person might have one of these four common psychiatric conditions. It also provides a clear and concise printed report detailing the results of the test that can be shared and discussed with a person's family doctor or a mental health professional," says Larry Culpepper, MD, MPH, Chairman of the Department of Family Medicine at Boston University School of Medicine, and a co-author of the study.

"For the one-in-five Americans who have one of these diagnosable and treatable illnesses, the M-3 screener represents a major breakthrough by offering an easy-to-fill-out questionnaire that allows people to identify what's wrong with them, so they can get the help they need," says the article's lead author, Bradley N. Gaynes, MD, MPH, Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of North Carolina.

The M-3 also screens for suicide risk and substance abuse, warning users who might be at risk for these conditions and urging that follow-up steps be taken. (Photos and graphics of the M-3 Checklist are available at www.tinyurl.com/M-3photos [redirects to Flickr].)

The M-3 Checklist is private, simple to use, and does not require any personal information to be divulged. It can be taken online, and soon will be available on mobile devices. Users can monitor their progress by retaking the test at regular intervals on Microsoft's HealthVault, which ensures the results remain private but allows the information to be shared with clinicians.

The M-3, which was independently funded and developed, is particularly timely: hospitals, doctors, and patients are preparing to use electronic medical record (EMR) systems to document all health care interactions and the M-3 is the first validated application to use EMR technology developed for mental health care. The recent Obama Administration's economic stimulus package includes more than $20 billion in funding for the development of a nationwide electronic health record system over the next four years.

According to the most recent estimate from the National Institute of Mental Health, the annual economic impact of untreated mood disorders is more than $70 billion. For sufferers of depression and anxiety, lack of treatment can lead to reduced productivity or job loss, strain on personal relationships, and in some cases, can trigger drug use and/or suicide. Unlike other health issues, the very onset of depression and anxiety symptoms can hinder efforts by the person affected to seek help, and many sufferers are held back by shame or lethargy.

According to the newly released study: "The M-3 is a valid, efficient, and feasible tool for screening common psychiatric illnesses, including bipolar disorder and PTSD, in primary care. Its diagnostic accuracy equals that of presently used single-disorder screens but with the additional benefit of being combined into a one-page tool. The M-3 potentially can reduce missed psychiatric diagnoses and facilitate proper treatment of identified cases."

The Annals study is based on the responses of 647 patients at the University of North Carolina Family Practice Medicine Clinic. Each subject filled out the 27-question M-3 checklist and then participated in a follow-up interview with a clinician who had no access to the results of the screener. The M-3 was effective in screening for any mood or anxiety disorder 83 percent of the time and for a specific disorder in 76 percent of cases.

The study was conducted by Bradley N. Gaynes, MD, MPH, Joanne De-Veaugh-Geiss, LPA, and Hongbin Gu, PhD, all of the University of North Carolina School of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry; David R. Rubinow, professor and chairman of psychiatry, University of North Carolina School of Medicine; Sam Weir, MD, University of North Carolina School of Medicine, Department of Family Medicine; Cora MacPherson, PhD, Social & Scientific Systems; Herbert C. Schulberg, PhD, M.S.Hyg., Weill Cornell Medical College; and Larry Culpepper, MD, MPH, professor and chairman of family medicine, Boston University and chief of family medicine, Boston Medical Center.

About M-3:
Sixty million Americans have a diagnosable mood or anxiety disorder every year while fewer than half of these individuals receive help for their condition. One reason for this shortfall has been the absence of a single, simple, and reliable screen that can assess the presence of the mood and anxiety disorders, including obsessive-compulsive disorder, panic disorder and PTSD. The M-3 screener is a symptom checklist that a patient can use to rate his or her mood in one easy review. It is comprised of a short series of questions that touch on indicators of mental health and wellness.

The M-3 was developed by a team of mental health, strategic communications, and information management experts, including Robert M. Post, MD, head of the Bipolar Collaborative Network; Bernard M. Snyder, MD, assistant clinical professor of psychiatry at Georgetown University and a cognitive behavioral therapist; Michael L. Byer, director of M-3 Information; Larry Culpepper, MD, family practice program at Boston University; Gerald Hurowitz, MD, assistant clinical professor of psychiatry at Columbia University and a clinical psychopharmacologist; and Bill Lichtenstein, president of Lichtenstein Creative Media. The free and private screener is available at www.mymoodmonitor.com and is independently funded by M-3 Information without pharmaceutical industry support.

New Mind Chi Book Helps Re-Wire the Brain in Just 8 Minutes a Day (Mon, 08 Mar 2010)
Mind Chi book Achieve personal and professional goals almost effortlessly.

MIAMI, Fla., March 8 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- If you want to think better and sharper, feel more confident and experience more well-being in your personal and business life, you'll want to read the new book "Mind Chi" (ISBN: 978-1-906465-58-2, Wiley, 2010) by co-authors Richard Israel and Vanda North (www.mindchi.com).

The intriguing new practice described in this just-released book was inspired by T'ai chi ch'uan, a Chinese martial art employed since ancient times for health and well-being. Mind chi is a modern interpretation of T'ai chi created by the book's co-authors, emphasizing mental exercises. It synthesizes positive psychology, mental wellness and eudemonics (study of happiness) into one easy-to-follow guide.

"If you're willing to spend just eight minutes a day doing super simple brain exercises, your life can change completely," said Richard Israel, co-author of Mind Chi.

"The eight steps of Mind chi are grounded in established theories of memory, mind and motivational development and neuroscience," added Vanda North, the book's other co-author. "Our techniques are designed to improve your control, willpower and focus with the end goal of enhancing success both in your personal and business life."

The Mind chi process encourages you to ask: What is right about me, and how can I have more of it? How can I learn to direct my will to produce the outcomes I desire? Practiced for only 28 days, this new way of thinking transforms into a life-enhancing habit.

Each of the eight steps takes just one minute and can be employed throughout the day whenever convenient.

One example, designed to improve focus, concentration and clarity of thought, is called "One." In One, you set a timer and silently repeat the word "one" until an intruding thought occurs. At that point say "two" over and over until another thought intrudes, at which point you say "three," and so on. At the end of one minute note the number you reached. The goal is to be able to stay on "one" for 60 seconds with no other thoughts intruding. You will discover, the authors say, that the lower you are able to keep that number over time, the better you will find yourself concentrating and focusing throughout your day. For a demonstration of this technique go to: www.youtube.com/watch?v=C8C5Yo1gnB8.

"Mind Chi" (ISBN-13: 978-1-906465-58-2) is available through Amazon.com, Barnes and Noble and many other bookstores nation-wide (Price $23.95).

About the Authors:
Richard Israel is a consultant, international speaker, trainer and co-author with Tony Buzan of the best selling Brain$ell. He has lectured to over 100,000 people worldwide on business and sales techniques.

Vanda North is former president of the International Society for Accelerated Learning and Teaching and founded the Buzan Centres worldwide. She has authored several books and is a sought-after consultant by business, commercial and government organizations worldwide.

Los Angeles Hair Transplant Cosmetic Surgeon Corrects Bad Hair Transplants with New Hair Restoration Method (Sun, 07 Mar 2010)
reparative hair transplants LOS ANGELES, Calif., March 8 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- FineTouch Dermatology, Inc. announces the Body Hair Transplantation (BHT) hair restoration method. This new method provides patients with the opportunity to fix bad hair transplants damaged by traditional hair restoration techniques.

This new and exciting option is now offered by Dr. Sanusi Umar, a Los Angeles cosmetic surgeon and board certified dermatologist who is internationally known for his incredible hair transplant surgery repairs. For the past five years, Dr. Umar has used Body Hair Transplant to repair many poor hair transplant cases, previously believed hopeless.

Prior to BHT, an advanced hair restoration method, poor hair restoration procedures led to disfigurement and scarring. In many cases, this caused mental anguish, social embarrassment and even pain.

BHT involves the hair transplantation of scalp and non-scalp body and beard hair to balding areas of the head. Even severely bald individuals with prior poor hair surgery outcomes and a depletion of traditional scalp donor hair can achieve a cosmetically-acceptable restoration.

Conventional hair transplant methods involve the removal of flesh from the back and sides of the head resulting in linear scars that wrap around the back of the head from ear to ear; BHT is linear scar free and involves Single Follicle Extraction and Transfer (SFET), or the "Umar Procedure" - a more advanced version of Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE).

With SFET-FUE, hairs are transplanted in a natural manner, one at a time. This hair restoration procedure is minimally invasive using a scalpel-free, micro-surgical technique that allows hair to be removed from the head, face and other parts of the body with no cosmetically-significant scarring.

This hair restoration procedure is permanent and results are realized within approximately 12-18 months; follow-ups are minimal and patients are typically released after one to two years.

GD in 2005 before BHT repair by Dr UmarOne patient Dr. Umar helped had lost his donor hair supply after multiple antiquated scalp hair restoration surgeries. He was not only left bald, but also with several disfiguring scars. Prior surgeries included multiple scalp reductions and strip and punch hair transplants, with the creation of unnatural plugs in the frontal scalp and hairline. As a result, the patient had ridging and pitting and his temples and half of his head were devoid of hair.

Dr. Umar carried out the hair restoration repair at his Los Angeles office using approximately 15,000 chest, stomach and shoulder hair grafts; 6,000 beard hair grafts; and about 1,000 head hair grafts. The results of this hair restoration repair can be viewed by clicking here (YouTube link).

A different patient, who underwent the Dr Umar's hair transplantation repair procedure, explains that, "Although my prior odd appearance was not career-limiting, I now feel like a new person. I cannot say how this procedure would work on others, but as a patient and a physician, I felt like I did my due diligence by approaching a terrific and committed physician - Dr. Umar."

To view the results of this second hair restoration, click here (YouTube link).

Dr. Umar adds that not everyone is an ideal candidate for this type of hair restoration procedure using body hair.

"Some people just do not have the appropriate amount of body hair or may have unsuitable body hair characteristics," says Dr. Umar.

About Dr. Umar:
Dr. Umar has a reputation for being the top BHT and FUE hair transplant surgeon in the world. Since perfecting his SFET procedure, he has performed many successful reparative hair transplants with FUE and BHT. He is a pioneer in FUE and BHT has invented the tools he uses to perform the procedure. His practice is at the DermHair Clinic located in Redondo Beach, California.

Controversial New Book Reveals 2,500 Year Old Bible Cover-up (Fri, 05 Mar 2010)
The I AM Principle LAKELAND, Fla., March 5 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- A new book, "The I AM Principle" (ISBN 1448605946; Good Gets Better Publishing), takes a controversial look at the 2,500 year old translation of the Old Testament, from which the text of most modern Bibles is derived. Author Kimberly Fuller takes an in-depth look at the history of the replacement of the name of God from ancient scriptures, which was replaced by the words LORD and GOD in early translations as far back as 450 BC.

"The I AM Principle" uncovers the "lost word," as it has been called by some, which has its root in ancient texts and has been long sought after by those who believe it holds an inherent power over mind and matter. Appearing in the original Hebrew text from which Bibles today are translated, this lost word has been hidden from public view for over 2,500 years.

Author and former editor Kimberly Fuller is an ordained minister and for the past several years has studied the history of the Bible and the reasons behind the mystery of missing texts.

"Of particular interest is the fact that the name of God was deleted prior to even the public distribution of the Bible," says Ms. Fuller.

According to the author, "The name of God, in Hebrew, YHWH, and in English,'I Am That I Am,' is at the root of man's consciousness and is the key to connecting to the Creator and to discovering the realities of the universe, greatly influencing how we as individuals relate to ourselves and to the world. Mankind was given this information over 2,500 years ago for a reason, and this reason must come to light."

"The I AM Principle" attempts to dispel any superstitious attachments to the ancient and possibly oldest word in existence and offers a convincing argument for its rediscovery and use in modern society.

Newly released, the softcover is available on Amazon.com. and the book and ebook are available from www.theiamprinciple.com. A sample ebook is also available from the Web site.

Georgia Residents and Businesses Can Help Haiti with Donated Tents Before Rainy Season Hits! (Fri, 05 Mar 2010)
Tents2Haiti Georgia ATLANTA, Ga., March 5 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- You can help the Tents2Haiti effort. When Bishop Jim Pierce of Love Aflame! Worldwide and a team returned from Port au Prince, Haiti last week they had just one word to describe the most urgent need in that earthquake ravaged nation: TENTS! The team, consisting of five men from New York State, brought much needed food and medical supplies but the request for tents soon rose above all others.

Says Bishop Pierce: "The population is now living under scraps of cardboard and cloths that give some relief from the sun, but shortly the rainy season will be here and the people will be wet and cold. In their weakened state this will cause yet another round of sickness, suffering and death. And, I would want more than a roll of plastic for my family."

In response to this need a grass-roots movement of churches is forming across all denominational lines. Various ministries are now banding together to collect tents for shipment to Haiti before rains hit the last week of March. So far tents are being collected from churches and individuals for delivery to regional centers in the states of New York, Georgia, Florida, North and South Carolina and Maine.

Multimodal Hazmat Shippers Learn Latest Regulations at Lion Technology Workshop (Thu, 04 Mar 2010)
Lion Technology LAS VEGAS, Nev., March 4 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Department of Transportation (DOT) have stepped up enforcement to reduce undeclared and illegal hazmat shipments via airline, truck, rail, and ship. Undeclared shipments of hazardous materials are predominately aerosols and flammable liquids (e.g., paint and paint-related materials), as well as batteries, fireworks, dry ice, perfume products, and cigarette lighters.

Before a hazardous material is transported in commerce, it must be properly classified, described, packaged, marked, and labeled as prescribed by the DOT Hazardous Materials Regulations. The DOT also mandates that all hazmat employees who "directly affect the safety of hazardous materials transportation" be trained and tested on these same regulations. Hazmat employees must have additional training on the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations and IMDG Code if shipping by air or ocean.

To help the regulated community understand the rules for hazmat shipping, Lion Technology, the nation's leader in regulatory compliance training, is presenting a unique training series on the DOT, IATA, and IMDG regulations. Training on only the DOT rules will be held in Sacramento, CA on April 22-23; training on all three shipping methods will be held in Las Vegas, NV on April 12-15, Denver, CO on April 19-22, and Los Angeles, CA on April 26-29, 2010.

The fee for the two-day DOT workshop is $695 per person. Each additional day (IATA or IMDG) is $495 per person. Registration includes hands-on instruction, course reference materials, networking luncheon, and one year of follow-up support services. Group discounts for 3 or more students are available. Sign-in is at 7:30 a.m., with the workshop beginning at 8:30 a.m. and concluding at 4:30 p.m. Pre-registration is recommended. Students can register by phone, (888) 546-6511, or via the Internet at www.lion.com.

The workshops feature in-depth discussions of the DOT Hazardous Materials Regulations and the IATA and IMDG Dangerous Goods Regulations, with an emphasis on the differences between the regulations and the critical components of hazmat shipping, including classification, shipping papers, package selection, package marking and labeling, and recordkeeping.

Desolation of Obama Nation Continues Says City of Angels Pastor (Thu, 04 Mar 2010)
Pastor Craig Rubin LOS ANGELES, Calif., March 4 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- President Obama's list of broken promises begins to grow as he declines further in national polls, says Pastor Craig Rubin. Part of the reason for his decline in popularity says Rubin is because of his ignoring the wishes of average American people. "The President asked us to list our most important issues on his Web site. Cannabis prohibition was the number one question and he flat out ignored it," says Rubin.

On October 19, 2009 the Attorney General of the United States said that the federal government would protect cannabis providers who followed state's laws. On October 20, 2010 Pastor Rubin received a permit from the City of Los Angeles allowing him to "sell medical marijuana" at his Temple 420. On October 21st the Assistant City attorney Asha Greenberg wrote Mr. Rubin a letter saying the city didn't see a problem with what he was doing operating his medical marijuana club. On October 22, the following day Asha Greenberg sent in a team of officers to arrest Rubin. This is according to the testimony of Officer Mangrum at the Preliminary Hearing that sent this case to trial where Rubin now faces 11 years in prison for providing a qualified patient with one gram of cannabis at his licensed facility.

Rubin says, "Carmen Trutanich and Steven Cooley are not just doing their jobs, but are being ordered to do so by their bosses. The head prosecutor at the court house, the boss of all DAs is watching over this case as if it the most important one they have. He hasn't missed a minute of court time; meanwhile there are plenty of murder trials in the building he is ignoring."

As a pastor and Bible believer Rubin feels the war on marijuana, which is what the War on Drugs truly is, in fact is a strategy of the "New World Order." The underlying principle behind global governance is that we can't take care of ourselves locally and our needs are met by being part of an interdependent universal community. Rubin rejects this belief and instead relies on his understanding of the Bible and sees a global government as not necessarily benevolent. "Cannabis provides food, clothing, food and fuel and can be provided on a local level thereby eliminating the need for a New World Order," claims the pastor and he points to Henry Ford's hemp car developed in the 1930s.

The car was made from cannabis. The body of the car was ten times stronger than steel and lighter. Plus, it ran on hemp fuel that was grown in Michigan. The pastor truly believes that cannabis is the key plant for the healing of all nations because it has the power to defeat the global corporate takeover of the planet. "I am not fooled by my political enemies. I realize they are motivated by a Satanic force that seeks to hide the truth about this plant and God's creation, but their plans are being exposed," Rubin continues, "as Senator McCain tries to outlaw Vitamin C and Aloe Vera with his Codex Alimentarius compliance legislation."

The Codex Alimentarius is group of international laws designed to standardize all food, vitamins and supplements under the World Trade Organization. The net result of this legislation will be that people in the United States may need a doctor's note not only to buy cannabis from government regulated clubs, but that they may also need permission to take Vitamin C. As the global government clamps down on an ever increasingly unarmed population in the United States one can see the same tactics described in the book, "Economic Hit Man" being applied to our own country.

"These people are dangerous to freedom and need to be stopped," says the Pastor. Rubin's trial starts Friday March 5, 2010 at 11701 South La Cienega at the LAX Courthouse. Rubin is represented by Attorney Jennifer Soares. Donations to the defense fund can be made at www.cannalawyer.com and are appreciated.

"I am looking forward to hearing what these government officials have to say for themselves when they take the stand," says Rubin who has claimed his arrest was politically motivated, "especially Ms. Greenberg."

Various ministries are now banding together to collect tents for shipment to Haiti before rains hit the last week of March (www.Tents2Haiti.org). So far tents are being collected from churches and individuals for delivery to regional centers in the states of New York, Georgia, Florida, North and South Carolina and Maine.

"This is how we can help people in Haiti in a practical way," says volunteer coordinator Mark Swiger, "Just about every family in America has a tent in storage that will mean life or death to a family in Haiti."

If you are a Church, individual or business in this area and would like to donate tents, the local collection site for this area is:
LifeChurch
8 Elkins Drive
Gorham, Maine 04038
Telephone: (207)-839-6354.

HOW YOU CAN HELP NOW:
INDIVIDUALS IN MAINE: Mail or deliver your personal tent (3 man or larger) to the above collection site for delivery before March 23rd, 2010.

MAINE CHURCHES/BUSINESSES: Have Church members bring tents (3 man and larger) to a Sunday service (or workplace if you own a business) and then deliver the tents to the collection site listed above before March 23rd, 2010.

FMI and cash donations go to www.Tents2Haiti.org.

Titan Lenders Corp Offers RESPA Compliance GFE/HUD-1 Webinar Series (Thu, 04 Mar 2010)
Titan Lenders Corp DENVER, Colo., March 4 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- Mortgage fulfillment outsource services expert Titan Lenders Corp is conducting a Webinar series focused on real world application of RESPA changes to the GFE and HUD-1. Beginning March 9, the Webinar will be held bi-monthly on Tuesdays at 1:00 p.m. EST/EDT (subsequent Webinars are scheduled for March 23, April 6 and April 20). Titan's RESPA compliance training has been developed from the operations perspective, providing both factual and practical information for working with GFE and HUD-1 borrower disclosures.

Originators and other professionals working directly with initial disclosures and/or closing documents that want to participate in the Titan Lenders Corp Webinar titled "GFE HUD Compliance" can register at titanlenderscorp.com/GFE-HUD-training-webinars.htm.

"Nearly everyone offering GFE/HUD-1 training is simply providing the standard RESPA training released by HUD late last year and updated in January. Titan Lenders Corp training is based on its actual file processing experiences since RESPA went into 'soft release' effect," said Titan Lenders Corp president Mary Kladde. "We are committed to playing a role in the industry's revival, so we are sharing what we have learned as a provider of outsource services to very active lenders."

Titan Lenders Corp is a U.S.-based domestic mortgage fulfillment outsource operation that offers a "parallel and variable cost alternative solution" to lenders' maintaining back office and warehouse line management operations.

Based on Titan Lenders Corp's success in producing RESPA-compliant loans, the "GFE HUD Compliance" training series delivers a comprehensive line-by-line understanding of the new GFE and HUD, including:
* New RESPA terminology;
* When to re-disclose;
* Understanding "Changed Circumstances";
* Understanding Tolerance Measurements;
* Understanding "Important Dates"; and
* Inside columns, outside columns, what do they mean?

"All of the loans we have been involved with for our lender clients have been in compliance and are being purchased with no issues by investors," Kladde explained. "Many lenders managing their own back office system are not experiencing that same level of success, so we are confident we can have a positive effect of lenders' understanding of how to deal with the new requirements."

This class is designed for anyone who works directly with GFE's and/or HUD's, including loan originators, processors, underwriters, closers and post closers. For more information, contact Sales@TitanLendersCorp.com.

About Titan Lenders Corp:
Titan Lenders Corp (www.TitanLendersCorp.com) is one of a specialized few providers of mortgage back office fulfillment services, a not-well-understood facet of mortgage lending that includes closing, funding, and post closing services. Community banks, credit unions, mortgage bankers and brokers use outsource providers strategically to minimize compliance risks in a time-sensitive error-averse environment. Fluctuations in mortgage lending volume also lead some lenders outsource their entire back office operation and secure predictable "per transaction" pricing rather than maintaining an inflexible static in house staff.

ArtsRanch, Founded By Broadway Performer Jacob Brent, Announces Summer Performing Arts Camp in July 2010 (Wed, 03 Mar 2010)
Jacob Brent SAN JOSE, Calif., March 4 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- ArtsRanch, Performing Arts Training Center in Northern California (artsranch.com) has announced a three-week summer camp in July 2010 at the Coloma Resort. Founded in 2009 by Jacob Brent, (Mr. Mistoffelees in CATS - Broadway, London and film), who also serves as Artistic Director, ArtsRanch features Broadway performers as guest teaching artists, all of whom are dedicated to training and nurturing young talent and developing the performing artists of the future.

Bringing a bit of Broadway out west, ArtsRanch is a residential performing arts camp that provides a total theater immersion experience for performers between the ages of 13-18. At ArtsRanch, students experience individual instruction from notable industry professionals with credits from Broadway, national tours, television, and film. Students perform in a full-length Broadway musical production while attending master classes in voice, acting, dance, and audition technique; all culminating in a performance for family and friends the final weekend.

Brent says, "This summer camp is exactly the place I wish I could have attended when I was growing up. My mission was to create an environment where young actors come together to discover there are other theater fanatics just like them. I find it exciting to see young people from all over the country realize they all know every word to Oklahoma! or Wicked."

ArtsRanch encourages students to build a professional work ethic while enjoying the excitement of a summer camp and making lifelong friendships with others that are passionate about theatre.

"The greatest reward for me," Brent says "is seeing young actors come to ArtsRanch unaware of their full artistic potential and after three weeks time, perform their hearts out on stage with confidence and a sense of true achievement."

Joining Brent at ArtsRanch this season are guest artists, Erich Bergen, whose credits include Jersey Boys (1st National and Vegas), Forum (Reprise, LA) and the CW television hit, Gossip Girl; and Etai Benshlomo, Boq from the San Francisco production of Wicked. Brad Simmons returns as resident musical director. Simmons is most recognized as The Pianist in the cult film Camp, and is an established performer, composer, musical director and vocal coach in New York City. Joining Simmons will be Kristen Lee Rosenfeld, musical director and conductor on the 1st National Tour of the Tony-award winning Broadway musical Spring Awakening. Other guest artists and staff will be announced in the coming months.

Tweet Tracking Site Helps Chile Relief Agencies Save Lives (Wed, 03 Mar 2010)
Chilean Earthquake Relief MAULE, Chile, March 3 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- A woman uses her Twitter account to plead for help in locating her missing daughter - and finds her. An aid group puts out an urgent call for water sanitation equipment. A church group with food to offer asks for storage space in the earthquake-devastated city of Concepcion. A new site created by the World Mind Network and Chilean Earthquake Relief helps make these stories happen.

These are examples of how micro-blogging sites, social networks, and cell phone SMS messages are being used to pinpoint immediate needs in quake-ravaged Chile, and get resources and information instantly to where they're needed. But so many micro-blogging and social network accounts exist; how to find the ones with truly pertinent information?

A centralized website sponsored by Chilean Earthquake Relief and the World Mind Network lists only those Twitter, Google Buzz, and Plurk feeds, Facebook and hi5 postings, local video streams and blog posts which are updated every few minutes and which are known to often carry urgent messages from victims and relief workers. The site is www.chileearthquaketweettracker.net.

Volunteers have been monitoring all the streams on the site so far, but the plan is for 4 teams of students to track all the feeds around the clock. As new useful trackers are found they are added; as old ones become less useful, they are eliminated.

The goal is to list and link to every micro-blogging monitor which consistently displays the most urgent messages. Then the volunteers find ways to get the information to the relevant authorities, including the Red Cross, Save the Children, Oxfam, and Americares. Site operators are using the knowledge they gain to create a "template" for use in future disasters and crises.

For more information, or to volunteer, contact worldmindnetwork@gmail.com.

California Grandmother Seeks City's Approval to Offer Medical Cannabis at Store (Wed, 03 Mar 2010)
Marsha Taffett family CAPITOLA, Calif., March 3 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- Should medical cannabis be for sale in Capitola? One woman thinks so. On February 25, 2010, Capitola resident Marsha Taffett, a 58-year old grandmother, stood at the podium in front of Capitola's City Council to seek their support to open the Herbal Wellness Center of Capitola in the city's commercial district; and to dispense medical cannabis at the retail store.

And, considering that Santa Cruz placed a recent ban on medical cannabis dispensaries made the challenge an even greater one.

After Taffett's presentation, which focused on the science and economics of cannabis, the city council, however, with the exception of Taffett's sole supporter, Mayor Sam Storey, did not focus on science and economics, it was politics as usual.

Reasons for not supporting the request ranged from not enough people needing the item to Federal laws. One council member abstained because he wanted more community feedback.

But, Taffett is not backing down. She's committed to proving plants are better than pills for healing, and cannabis is just one herb among many herbs she plans to offer, it just makes economic sense to include it.

"It's the most popular herb in the history of mankind; it's California's number one cash crop; and it's been legal to dispense since 1996," says Taffett.

Taffett has spent the last two years researching herbal medicine. She knows that cannabis is an excellent healing alternative to prescription drugs which often have harmful side-effects, including death.

"Prescription drugs are the number one killer of our youth today, far more than deaths caused by auto accidents," explains Taffett.

Taffett compares the huge profits made by big drug companies to the $85 billion cannabis black market.

"Most of the prescription drugs manufactured by pharmaceutical companies are based on plant medicine. They use synthetic formulations of plants, packaged as pills, and promote these pills as wonder drugs using massive media campaigns," says Taffett. "A good example of this practice is the drug Marinol, a synthetic formula of cannabinoid THC, sold by pharmacists today. Medicare pays $367 for 30 pills of Marinol, roughly $69,000 an ounce, using taxpayer money, while organically-grown cannabis sells for around $500 an ounce."

If Taffett sounds biased against synthetic drugs, she is. She has witnessed, firsthand, the harmful side effects caused by popular prescription drugs like Ativan, Ambien, Lexipro and Cymbalta, taken by both her mother and husband with devastating consequences.

After much research and discussion, Taffett resolved to find a better alternative to prescription drugs; find a better way to self-heal; find a way to help others.

Ignoring traditional healthcare covered by her health insurance, Taffett, went to see a homeopathic doctor at a holistic health center. What she learned about herbal medicine changed her life. She started taking herbal medicine in tincture form, eating more wholesome foods, exercising and getting back into fun activities such as using a karaoke machine for laughter therapy with friends.

Strangely, the only herbal medicine she couldn't get from her homeopathic doctor was cannabis, which helped her with anxiety and insomnia following the death of her husband in 2007.

Today, Taffett is surrounded by members of the community who support her quest and are relying on her to not give up the fight. In the meantime, Taffett will open her herbal wellness center without cannabis on the menu, but she remains committed to changing that.
